European mobile purchases: a booming market
A Forrester study declares that Europeans spent about €1.7b on mobile purchases last year, and that this number is set to increase to a whopping €19b by 2017.
Why is this useful to know?
First of all, it’s always better/easier to build a business in a growing market. A rising tide lifts all boats. That may or may not factor in your thinking about whether to launch a particular product or business.
Secondly, if you’re writing a grant application or any other kind of business plan or pitch, the numbers from the Forrester study, quoted in this Mashable article, will come in handy.
Thirdly, it’s interesting to note that according to Forrester, the growth will come not from people spending more on mobile, but from more people spending more or less the same amount – about €200 a year.
