GrantTree was founded in 2010 by Paulina and Daniel Tenner, out of a desire to
deliver tangible support to startups, tech companies, and other innovators, and to
improve the ecosystem of support for these companies.
We have total transparency and trust across GrantTree, from our communication to our salaries. This breaks down the hierarchal barriers often found within companies, enabling us to increase our effectiveness across everything we do.
Within any business, it goes without saying that communication is paramount.
At GrantTree, we actively encourage collaboration and communication – even the trickiest conversations are tackled head-on so that we can work as a well-oiled machine, rather than several separate parts.
Change is good. At GrantTree, we pride ourselves on being fluid and nimble – something often not common in financial services! If we see a new product or process that can help our clients, we want to get it out as quickly as possible to enable them to fulfil their potential, not stagnate in ’this is the way it’s always been done’.
ACHIEVE/GET OUT OF PEOPLE’S WAY
At GrantTree, we want to make stuff happen – and quickly. The best way to do that is to get out of each other’s way and all push from one side, rather than everyone pushing from all sides.

MEET OUR TEAM
Daisy studied Philosophy at Sussex and joined GrantTree after working in client facing roles in the legal services sector. She’s a perfectionist when it comes to financial calculations, and always gets a thrill from ringing our ‘filed a tax credits claim’ bell. Yes, we do have a ‘filed a tax credits claim’ bell … and we love it.
Chris’ passion for tech saw him go straight from a marketing, advertising and PR degree to the world of technology. Before life at GrantTree, Chris has worked client side, with mobile technology start-ups (including his own), and agency-side with global brands looking to innovate.
Joanna studied at the University of Manchester, and is fluent in two languages – but you’ll never guess which*. She has stepped away from client management and moved over to running all things Treehouse (GrantTree’s new co-working space), including making sure there’s always a steady supply of homemade cake. *(German and Chinese)
After completing a degree in Financial Economics, Joe has worked in the finance sector and most recently for a construction startup based in the Middle East, before journeying back over to the UK and touching down in GrantTree, where he has been bulldozing his way through R&D Tax Credit claims.
Kweku is GrantTree’s uber-whizz Partnership Manager. He has previous experience in startups, managing commercial partnerships and investor communities… with a few stories to go with it! If you’re doing interesting things in the startup space, he’s your guy. Roof-terrace-dwelling crumpet-enthusiast.
Nicky’s background is in finance management across a variety of industries including shipping, FMCG, recruitment and hospitality. She’s also nearing the end of her CIMA struggle to be an accredited finance nerd, so she can command even the toughest of numbers at her fingertips.
Rowan has a solid financial background even before joining GrantTree’s ranks. He spent 7 years trading in the City, has a Computer Science degree from Trinity College Dublin and is the dynamic driving force towards spearheading new and innovative products for GrantTree – watch this space!
Will has an MSc in Environmental Economics and an MBA. Prior to GrantTree he worked on Agri-Tech projects in a sub-Saharan African context and also a marine infrastructure project in the Southwest of England. He’s super enthusiastic about all things tech, in the grant/tax credit space or to do with surfing. Feel free to drop him a line to discuss any of the above
