Course Curriculum

Part 1: Let’s get started
This section is to help you get set-up before beginning the course.

  • Welcome to Get Grant Ready/Founded to Funded
  • Let’s measure your success: Your starting point

Part 2: An overview of grants
This provides you with an overview of what grants are available and where to find them to get a good match between your business, the project and the grant competition.

Part 3: Developing the grant project idea
In this section, we start broadly with writing down all your grant project ideas, then narrow down to deep-diving one project for the remainder of the course.

Part 4: Commercialising the innovation
In this section we consider the commercialisation of the innovation as the key project output that has been developed. We explore competition analysis, market analysis, go-to-market strategy and wider context e.g. political and economic environment.

Part 5: Managing the project
The project is core to the application and in this section we will cover what a project mindset is, what to consider when running a project and considerations for IP as the project outputs at the planning stage.

Part 6: Business and project finances
The timing of grants may be influenced not only by the product roadmap but also the financial health of the business. Here we consider the business finances, match funding for cashflow, and what eligible project costs are.

Part 7: Project team
Putting together the project team can take time and having the conversations and agreements set up before writing a grant application can help to make the grant writing process go smoothly.

Part 8: Finishing Up: Summary and evaluating your success
