As one of GrantTree’s R&D Technical Consultants, Luke uses his considerable scientific expertise to explain our clients’ complex development work to HMRC, demonstrating their eligibility for R&D Tax Relief. Before joining GrantTree, Luke was a member of the synthetic chemistry team at Evonetix, pioneers of a groundbreaking gene synthesis technology.
Luke obtained a PhD in chemistry from the University of Edinburgh. His thesis explored whether Earth-abundant metal catalysts could be used as sustainable catalysts for synthesis. His research has spanned synthetic chemistry, renewable materials, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology. Outside of work, Luke enjoys photography, hiking, and sports, including football, basketball and F1.
